A craft learned at Steinway
I learned my trade at Steinway & Sons in Munich – 3.5 years of apprenticeship followed by 3.5 years as a journeywoman piano maker, including concert tunings at the Gärtnerplatz Theatre. As a state-certified piano maker I am more than a tuner: I understand the entire instrument.
Since 2024 I have been self-employed, serving pianos and grands across the Allgäu – from the family upright to instruments in music schools and churches. Many of my clients are international families and expats; appointments in English are no problem at all.

Piano tuning in the Allgäu – common questions
Do you offer appointments in English?
Yes, gladly. Many of my clients are international families living in the Allgäu – feel free to write or call in English.
How often should my piano be tuned?
Once or twice a year is ideal for most pianos. The Allgäu's seasonal swings between heating months and summer affect the tuning noticeably.
What does a tuning cost?
A complete tuning is a flat €178.50 incl. VAT, with free travel within the core area. If the pitch has dropped far, a pitch raise (€89.25) may be needed – I always discuss this openly beforehand.
How long does a tuning take?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes. With a pitch raise or small service work, a little longer. I take the time your instrument needs.
